If you were to act negligently during the course of your work and accidentally injure or damage the property of a third party, public liability insurance for a beauty therapist would act as a financial safety net and provide compensation to the injured party. This policy provides Public and Products Liability with a limit of indemnity of £5,000,000.

We can cover beauty therapists who work from home, from business premises, from a client’s home, at an event and many other scenarios. Speak with our team if you feel unsure about whether the policy covers your location.

Treatment liability is a form of public liability cover especially for beauty therapists. It ensures that if you cause bodily injury or property damage to a customer whilst carrying out a treatment and they take you to court, your legal costs and awards claimed by the client are covered up to £1 million. You must follow the policy precautions and conditions relating to the treatments you carry out in order for a cover to be valid.

Please note that you must hold the relevant certificates and qualifications for all treatments undertaken.

A policy excess is the amount you are asked to pay towards the claim. The following policy excesses apply as standard to the Health and Beauty package policy:

  • Third party property excess is £100 (for example you damage your customers property as a result of your negligence)
  • Business equipment excess £50

This policy does not provide cover for employees. Employers’ liability is a legal requirement under the Employers Liability Act 1969. Therefore, please contact us should you require this cover or go to our salons webpage.

We have provided a summary of the significant key exclusions, but please note that full terms, conditions, and exclusions can be found in the policy wording, a copy of which is available through the online quotation process.

Please contact us to discuss should you require further information on this matter.

If you prefer to spread the cost of your annual premium, we offer a quick and easy direct debit scheme. When you choose to pay premiums in instalments, you will be paying under a Premium Finance plan. We will give you full details of the finance provider, and the additional cost of finance, when we provide you with your payment plan quotation. This will include the total payable, the number of monthly instalments and the cost of each, as well as the representative APR.

Please visit our dedicated Direct Debit page to find out more.

If you would like to know more about our monthly payment option, please visit our dedicated Direct Debit page.
