Covers all risks of mortality and theft as well as lifesaving surgery until the foal is up to 30 days. After this you can cover them on our main horse insurance policy. The policy will reimburse you for the death, theft or humane destruction of your foal or any lifesaving surgical costs for fracture repair or colic.
Prospective foal insurance covers a foal in utero that is not alive at the expiry of the policy, up to the specified limit in the policy.
Mare barrenness insurance is purchased in conjunction with a prospective foal insurance policy and will provide an indemnity if:

For an additional premium, and subject to the provision of information acceptable to the insurer, the sum insured of your horse as listed on your bloodstock insurance policy can be accepted by the insurer as the "agreed value" in the event of a claim. In the absence of this extension, the value is deemed to be the current market value.
Loss of use covers your horse against being rendered totally and permanently incapable of performing the use for which it is kept and insured as a result of an illness or injury occurring or arising during the period of this insurance. Accidental External Injury Loss of Use provides cover as a result of an injury by visible external and violent means occurring or arising during the period of this insurance.
Veterinary fees insurance for bloodstock is often added to mortality policies and provides cover for the costs of the treatment of your horse by a qualified vet. We can offer levels of cover from £3,000 to £10,000 per annum.
